History in Rio

The Olympic games came to an end last weekend with an exciting finish as Brazil. Led by Neymar JR won the gold medal after a penalty shootout vs Germany (1:1 after 120 minutes) as the FC Barcelona star scored the final penalty that started the celebrations at the Maracanã. This was the first time Brazil won the Gold medal in the Olympic football tournament and a sort of compensation to the local fans after being destroyed by the Germans just 2 years ago in the World Cup semi-Final.

Crazy match day 1 in the La Liga

We all knew that FC Barcelona and Real Madrid will probably rule once again the Spanish La Liga in the 2016/17 season, but nobody expected an amazing match day 1 to open the season. Barca won Betis 6:2, Real Madrid defeated Sociedad 3:0, Sevilla won Espanyol 6:4! And Las Palmas 4:2 victory at Valencia were a part of a 20-year record of 40 goals in only 10 matches. Amazing start.

The Manchester teams rule the EPL

After Match day 2 at the English Premier League Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and the surprising Hull city got their 2nd W of the season and are the only 4 teams left with a perfect record of 6 points. Zlatan Ibrahimović, the Swedish superstar has already 3 goals – same as Argentine forward Sergio Aguero.

Calcio action is back at the Serie A

Juventus, AS Roma, AC Milan & Lazio are some of the teams that opened the 2016/17 Serie A with a victory on match day 1. Argentine superstar Go that just set the football transfer market on fire a few weeks ago with a record €90! Transfer fee from Napoli started to cash back with the winning goal against Fiorentina.
